How does it work?

The heat produced by the Accent causes an instant tightening of the support structure in the skin and then continues to stimulate an increase in collagen production providing a new, tighter foundation to the skin, almost a healing response.

This combination of effects provides an immediate tightening of the skin and a progressive tightening over the next 2-3 months which is when the full effects will be seen best.

For fat and cellulite treatment, it works by breaking down fat cells, helping reabsorb fatty deposits and retained fluids and improving blood flow to the area to improve drainage and the added benefit of tightening the skin also. An immediate reduction in contour measurement was reported in 70% of trial patients.

How long does it take and how many treatments are needed?

Depending on the size and number of the areas being treated in one session, anything from 30 minutes up to a couple of hours. A series of

2-5 treatments at monthly intervals for the face and 4-8 treatments for the body are needed to achieve the best results.

Does it hurt?

Patients will generally experience a warm sensation on the skin as it starts to heat up but the system has a cooling system built in to ensure comfort. Tolerance to the treatment is very good and there is no need for any anaesthesia.

Are there any side effects?

Radio Frequency procedures have an excellent safety record and indeed have been used in medicine for over 70 years. Redness and any slight swelling which may occur usually disappear within a few hours after treatment.
